River Fishing Cheat Sheet

Ever wonder why some fishermen out-fish everyone else on the river? Odds are, they're using the correct color, correct size, and fishing a specific area for a reason. Ever fish an area one day, and limit out rather quickly; come back the next day, and get skunked? --The fish are holding somewhere different, and the water temperature has a lot to do with it.
This Cheat Sheet is a compilation of many fishing books with detailed info on where, and what to be fishing with. Specifically for CORKIES, and SPINNERS!

$2.99

A must have cheat sheet for salmon, and steelhead fishing. Where fish hold, and what colors to use depending on water color, and temperature.
One page of a color guideline to carry in your tackle box, or on your mobile device when going fishing. Specifically tailored to river fishing spinners, or corkies and yarn, for salmon, and steelhead.

    1. I'm assuming you're using corkies....i would use a pink, or chartruese, with a black combo, and start with about an 18 inch leader.......what spot are you fishing?

    2. well we were searching for a more calm open area, maybe with a slower flow from the river. We mapped out a couple of places and our first location was fenced off, ended up trying to go to lake tapps for a location but it seemed as if it was only for community residents....so my buddy was like lets just head to tacoma, near owens beach off of the bait shop board walk there and casted for about 3 hours..small bullhead and a couple of flats. Made for a good time with friends and that was actually my first time fishing in the ocean.

  4. Got a suggestion where to go tomorrow, 8/6/12? I'll tell ya, I'm tired of going out and getting skunked.. I'm puting the time in and the research, but coming home empty handed is starting to really get me bummed. I've fished all up and down the puyallup.. from the soccer fields to way up river behind Mcalder elementary. Maybe I should try the Nisqually.. I know of a "honey hole" there where we pulled so many pinks out last year it was insane... catch and release til we couldn't see straight and kept a few to smoke. This year seems like it's been very slow on the Puyallup.. or is it early still?? Kim

    1. It's still early. None of the a-run silvers really started coming thru until this week last year. I won't be taking my brother until next weekend, because I know theres a much better chance for him to get something.

If you want to fish for silvers, i would wait until this weekend, and fish the huge incoming tide at sunrise down by the soccer fields, or fred meyer.

if you're going for kings, i would try up at 116th st.

    1. I know there already fish trickling in, but usually opening day, there's more fishermen than fish. I'm betting around the 10th of august or so, we'll start seeing better numbers
